The spirit of travel
This southern route, less traveled, connects the colonial area of Santo Domingo to the wild beaches of Bahía de las Águilas, a preserved bay accessible only by boat or trail, where you sleep two nights in glamping overlooking the sea. Then heading to Barahona and its crystal-clear waters at Villa Miriam, before a morning dedicated to larimar, a unique blue stone found nowhere else in the world that is only found in this region. An off-the-beaten-path itinerary, between virgin beaches, lush mountains and artisanal encounters.

Highlights
Day-by-day itinerary

Welcome to the Dominican Republic!
Upon your arrival at the airport in Saint-Domingue, your driver welcomes you and takes you to your hotel in the colonial zone, the historic heart of the capital.
You settle into an establishment that combines colonial architecture and modern comfort. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Discovery of Santo Domingo
After breakfast at your hotel, a private driver takes you to the Cueva de los 3 Ojos, where you meet your English-speaking guide.
The morning begins with the discovery of this open-air cave, its three freshwater lagoons, rock formations and tropical vegetation. You then head to the colonial zone, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. With your guide, walk through its cobblestone streets and discover in particular the cathedral and the National Pantheon.
Lunch awaits you at a typical restaurant in the colonial zone. In the afternoon, take the cable car to see Santo Domingo from above, then enjoy free time in the colonial zone.

Getaway to Bahía de las Águilas: A Wild Paradise
Saint-Domingue → Bahía de las Águilas
After breakfast at the hotel, your private driver will pick you up at 8:30 a.m. to head to Bahía de las Águilas. Along the way, the landscapes alternate between mountains, rural areas and the southwest coast of República Dominicaine.
Upon arrival, you will settle into a comfortable wooden cabin, on the edge of the beach. Lunch and dinner are organized with the nearby restaurant, where you can taste local dishes facing the sea.
The end of the day is free for you to relax, explore the surroundings or enjoy the sunset.
Night in glamping at Bahía de las Águilas.

Private Exceptional Day at Bahía de las Águilas
After breakfast facing the sea, feet in the sand, you will board around 10 a.m. aboard a private speedboat to reach Bahía de las Águilas beach.
On site, tables and umbrellas are set up in a quiet corner. A seafood-based meal is served to you on the beach. You can also go snorkeling to discover the marine life.
You enjoy the beach at your own pace; the captain will pick you up no later than 5 p.m. to take you back to the glamping.
In the evening, dinner is organized with your hotel.

Getaway to Barahona
Bahía de las Águilas → Barahona
After a final breakfast by the sea at the glamping site, you leave Bahía de las Águilas between 10:30 and 11 a.m. with your private driver. The coastal road takes you towards Barahona, between deserted beaches and verdant hills.
Around 1 p.m., you arrive at Villa Miriam. Enjoy its natural pools fed by the river, its waterfalls and lush vegetation. A lunch based on fresh fish is served on site, then the afternoon continues between swimming and rest.
At the end of the day, you head to your 3-star hotel in the area. Dinner is arranged with the hotel.

Discovering Larimar: Treasure of Barahona
After breakfast at the hotel, your English-speaking guide accompanies you for a morning dedicated to larimar, the emblematic blue stone of the Barahona region. On a local beach, you learn to spot its gleams among the pebbles.
You then visit a craft workshop to discover the stone transformation process and meet the artisans, followed by the Larimar Museum, devoted to its history, geology and the legends surrounding it.
Around 1 p.m., you head to Los Patos for lunch based on fresh fish in a restaurant by the riverside. After the meal, you can swim there.
Return to the hotel around 4 p.m., then dinner arranged with the establishment.

See you soon in Dominican Republic!
